Technology

Kirby is well aware that students must have significant technological literacy and proficiency to succeed in the twenty-first century. In addition to the technology that is integrated into the math and science programs, Kirby regularly offers Programming (a two course sequence) and Audio Engineering, while other courses are occasionally added to accommodate student interests.

Kirby has three computer labs – a PC-computer lab open to all students, a dedicated computer classroom, and a digital media lab and recording studio. The computer classroom is used by the Programming classes as well as by classes whose teachers are incorporating technology into their curriculum through projects and research. The digital media lab consists of iMac workstations that are equipped with MIDI keyboards and professional software for audio and video production, digital photography, publishing, and design.
